Bruges
There is not a picture in the whole world that can capture the
atmosphere of this enchanting 'Venice of the North'.
It is as if time has stood still in Bruges, with its narrow
streets and intricately carved buildings of the middle ages
perfectly maintained.
There is a romantic open air museum of churches which is
dominated by the Grote Markts and Belfry, elegant houses,
famous canals and the poetically named internal port 'The Lake
of Love'.
In Bruges there is so much to see and do by either foot, boat
or even by horse drawn coach there is never enough time for it
all.
Brussels
Not only the capital of Belgium, but also fast becoming the
political capital of Europe, the city of Brussels has so much
to offer.
Brussels boasts probably the most beautiful square in the
world in the Grand Place, with its flamboyant gothic style
buildings surrounding the Town Hall.
The majestic Cathedral overlooks the city with its fine
buildings, parks and woods and beautiful monuments.
Brussels impudent youngster, the Manneken Pis, is famous all
over the world, there is even a museum of his outfits.
Some other museums include the Fine Arts, musical instrument,
Comic Strip and military museums.
On the outskirts of Brussels is the astonishing Atomium and a
mini Europe of famous landmarks.
The imposing building, The Royal Palace has a nice view of the
city.
The Botanical Gardens are worth a visit, with many plants and
flowers from all over the world.
